WALKTHROUGH
STEP 1:
Be welcomed by the amazing staff of LensCrafters next to Doris Boudaie Optometry! They'll help you fill out your eye exam form and pull up your vision insurance, if you have any.
The optometric tech will start with the auto-refractor. It gives us a starting point for your glasses prescription.
Next, he'll perform the "puff of air test." This will tell us the pressure inside your eyes. It is one of the tests to evaluate for glaucoma.
STEP 2:
Time for pre-testing with our advanced technology.
Then, he'll do the "vision field (peripheral) test." This is another test to evaluate for glaucoma, as well as other conditions that can affect your side vision.
STEP 3:
Finally, you may elect to take state of the art Screening Optos Photos. It screens for macular degeneration, diabetic or hypertensive (high blood pressure) retinopathy, tumors, etc. This machine helps us evaluate up to 70-80% of the retina in the back of your eye.
STEP 4:
Dr. Boudaie is ready to see you now! She'll review your eye, health, and family history and begin the eye exam!
STEP 5:
Dr. Boudaie will perform a thorough eye exam to make sure your eyes are as healthy as they can be! She'll finish with a refraction for glasses and/or contact lenses as needed.
STEP 6:
You will be given your glasses prescription at the end of the exam and your contact lens prescription upon completion of the fitting process. For your convenience, the friendly staff at LensCrafters can help you select glasses there if you would like.
STEP 7:
Don't forget to make your appointment for next year! It's important to have annual eye exams to evaluate for and prevent eye problems.
